Port Blair, Nov. 7: The vessel MV Nalanda is expected to arrive at Port Blair on Nov. 9, 2022 at 0600 hrs from Vizag. She has on board a total of 378 passengers and 4 infants. On arrival, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Port Blair, Nov. 7: The last date for submission of application form for admission in various Postgraduate (PG) courses has been extended upto 21st November, 2022 due to non-declaration of results of various courses by the Pondicherry University. The date of counseling etc. shall be informed in due course.

Port Blair, Nov. 3: ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair signed Memorandum of Understanding on 3rd November, 2022 for licensing of technology ‘’Dweep Vertigrow’’ in the Islands.  Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI transferred the technology to M/s. Jaisankar Industries, South Andaman.

Port Blair, Nov. 3: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has sanctioned setting and installation of Fish Cold Storage Chamber for Fish Landing Jetty, Panighat, under Hope Town Gram Panchayat, Ferrargunj Tehsil of 10 M tons capacity from MPLADS fund at the cost of Rs. 20 Lakhs Rupees.

The Member of Parliament had learned about the problems being faced by fishermen of the region in storing their catch, due to absence of a Cold Storage in their own area.

Since the launch of the ‘Andaman and Nicobar Startup and Innovation Policy’ by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 30th December, 2018, the UT of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has made significant strides in its Startup System, generating a noteworthy number of startups encompassing all sectors including IT, E- Commerce, Fisheries, Agriculture, Internet of things and Tour and Travels among others.
